Exploring the streets of Cardona, Spain
Cardona is a small and charming town located in the province of Barcelona (read more). Its gorgeous, yes, but is more famous for the salt mines which spurred the economy of the town centuries ago and made it an important trading town as well. Salt mining started here from the time of Romans and I also stayed here to explore these mines and explore the famous Cardona fort on the hilltop.
However, as soon as I reached the town I was completely swept off my feat by the beautiful old town, cafes and the very relaxed demeanor of the locals. So I decided to skip my lavish lunch in the five star hotel on the hill-top and walked down to the old town and ate at one of the old cafes. But before that I walked alone for hours with my camera and did some street photography.
Here is a photo-story from the streets of Cardona!
