Walking with the crowd of devotees is quite an experience. Whether it was Kumbh in 2013 or the big Ganesh Visarjan in Mumbai this year, I enjoyed it to the fullest. Crowds do not bother me, in fact they offer me excellent opportunity for photography :)
Sharing some of the images of different forms of Lord Ganesha from the Visarjan in Mumbai this year. I am sure we can all find our favourites in these :)

A bright and colourful Ganesha passing through the lane near Opera House...

The sea of people all around... |

Twin time :) |
|
Its not just big pandals, but also smaller ones from individual homes :) |
|
King like! |

As the evening fell, things became even more interesting... |
|
So many heads! I do not know the story behind this...anyone? |
|
And finally the most interesting Ganesha of them all - making a (non) political statement :) |
The one with so many heads. ...saw it last year. ..and wondered what the story behind it was...
ReplyDeleteNo success in figuring it out 😕
I don't know the story either...
DeleteHi Siddhartha, there may be any story to fit the description, however try to understand the real meaning of Ganapati and you will realise the stories like head transplant are meaningless
