Locals enjoying their weekend on the beach |
I was with my super expensive cab driver
Musa who kept giving me reasons on why taxis in Dar are so much more expensive than India, and none of that made any sense at all to me. But I was too tired to argue and kept listening and waiting for an opportunity to stop him at some beautiful place. Toure Dar is an excellent drive with beautiful colonial houses on one side and lovely green-blue sea on the other. However, its a high security zone and you cannot stop here - just enjoy the drive. You can also admire the Aga Khan house on the street close to the tiny light house by the sea.
Coco beach is towards the fag end of the road. Its not exactly the kind of beach I would love, but its certainly a great place to be, especially if you want to spend some time with the
Dars and eat some some local street food.
