Varanasi: Street Photography series

One of the best places for those who love street life, people, food and photography is Varanasi. Being one of the oldest cities in the country gives the city quite a bit of history and cultural context.

That's me floating in the river, forgetting all worries of life...

There is something for everyone in this city - for food lovers there are ridiculously awesome food places (Indian as well as continental), for music lovers there are numerous cafes and homes which host small gatherings every evening where you can enjoy Hindustani classical music, for water lovers there is lovely Ganga flowing all along the ghats (provided you can get over some of the dirt in the water) and finally for those seeking the deeper meaning of life, there is ample opportunity to contemplate it all by yourself or through discourses with the local intellectuals.

For me Varanasi is all of these things, and much much more. Its not easy to describe in words, the place needs to be experienced. I have been there twice already, and can't wait for my third visit. I hope that happens soon :)
