Review: Green House, House of MG, Ahmedabad
Long time back at the same place :) |
Chilling :) |
One of the places I love in Ahmedabad for food and ambience is House of MG located near the famed Sidi Sayyed ki Masjid near Roopali.
Though as a student the place was a little out of budget for me, I still managed to go at times. Well to give some small gyaan - the House of MG is actually three restaurants together. The most famed one is Agashiye, but let me talk about the breezy, green and spacious Green House today :)
The place is primarily gujju food, but if you come early then there is a variety of western influenced and other breakfast choices as well. To me this was came as a rather unexpected surprise as I had gone there for gujju breakfast and ended up eating a dosa! But if you time your visit well, your gastric juices will get to welcome some awesome gujju food :)
The best time would be early afternoons when Ahmedabad can be punishingly hot, or for dinner. The place is just so lovely, and the large open space makes it even more inviting.
By the way, while you are there do try and visit the Mangaldas ni Haveli, which used to serve food till a few years back but is not more of a museum. Enquire about the night heritage walk and if possible, sign up for it! You will not regret the lovely experience...
Oh and I am sharing just a couple of pictures from this recent trip to the city :)
